Hi All,
Im thinking of Getting a Wii for my kids this xmas,

but I would want to get a Mod chip, to be able to run the backups, I cant trust my children with the Disks, but a back up, if it gets damaged, then it doesnt matter,

so,.... my question is, If I get a Wii and Mod it, will it still be able to go online for D/loads of Old Nintendo games like NES and SNES and the like.

If you wait until Christmas to get a Wii, chances are you'll get an un-moddable D2C chipset.

How can you check what model it is without opening it up mine is from Mid December 2006 its a PAL model its about 1 week after it got released here.

You can't know for sure without opening it but by the date you bought it i'd say with 99% certainly it's modable.
