Can some one please help? I downloaded AnyDVD and CloneDVD, and since then, my dvdshrink will analyze but when I go to full disc back up, I get a message that sector is encrypted and it won't do anything else. Could someone please tell me what the problem is? I tried to burn a DVD I had currently used Shrink to burn and that same DVD is now giving this error message. What do I need to do to fix Shrink?

bryce485 ,
Did you rip the files to the HD first and then use Shrink or are you trying to use AnyDVD and Shrink at the same time by trying to do a movie on the fly?

If you used AnyDVD and CloneDVD and use those programs to rip the DVD to the HD and then use Shrink on those files then the 2 prior mentioned programs dis not properly rip the DVD files to the HD.

I suggest that you use DVDFAB HD Decrypter and use that ripper to rip the DVD to the HD before you use Shrink. Sometimes AnyDVD and CloneDVD hiccup

I only used DVD Shrink, Usually it will analyze, encode, and decrypt, then burn with full disc, now it will just analyze, and give the sector encrypted message, when I use AnyDVD and CloneDVD the it rips just fine and I am done. I am on the trial version, so I was just trying to make sure that my DVD Shrink will work just fine in case I decide not to buy them. Please Help!

bryce485,
The quality of the final DVD movie will be better in Shrink as CloneDVD's algorithim is not as good. If you want to use Shrink then use DVDFAB HD Decrypter to rip the files to the HD and then use Shrink on those files. It is a free program and it will rip Blades of Glory as AnyDVD can not handle it as of this date

bryce485---The truth is somewhere between Carmike and shiloh72's posts. Carmike is right in that everything he said is correct. Use the link for DVDfab because DVDshrink cant do most things by itself anymore. Or buy AnyDVD and let it run while you open your ripping/burning software.
Shiloh is right in the fact that they dont do all new movies. They do 99.9% of all movies. Sometimes a new movie comes out with new protection, and it might not work. After a few days there is an update, it works again, and the stat goes back up to 100%

Thanks to all that replied. I think my mind is made up with Deadrum33 and Car.Mike, I will stop being cheap and just purchase AnyDVD and CloneDVD.

But one more question, do I have to buy CloneDvd to use AnyDVD?

bryce485,
Just to clear up 1 thing. If you want to buy AnyDVD and CloneDVD from Slysoft go ahead but I am not recommending that you buy any software if the free ones will do it. CloneDVD's algorithim for compression is not as good as DVDShrink's( and it has not been updated in 3 1/2 years) but CloneDVD is a decent transcoder.

You can use AnyDVD w/o buying CloneDVD

And really you dont have to buy AnyDVD, it just saves a step. After doing this backup thing for a while, some of us like to save a step. It saves time, but doesnt do anything that free cant. I suggest using the free methods before you purchase anything, it made things easier in the long run for me.
Check this guide out,

http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup/TheG...hrinkImgbrn.pdf

if you can get through it, you will have all you need to backup any movie at all. All programs listed are free.

Hey to all, I quit useing anydvd cause it would fail alot of the time so i found something else called DVD43 and it works alot better and its also free, 90% of the time i can make backups with clonedvd and dvd43 but every so often i run across one that they wont do like for instance Delta Farce so then i use my DVDFab Decrypter and DVDShrink and they work like a charm they have never failed me .

To each his own. DVD43 is a driver decryption program similar to AnyDVD. If you read around, you'll find most users who've tried both will spend the bucks for AnyDVD. Personally, and I did say personally, I think DVD43 sucks. I'm one of those who the program caused problems for. To see how popular it is, look around the major forums.

So far DVDIdle's DVDFab Decrypter and Slysoft's AnyDVD are batting 100%. Until Blades of Glory, so was RI4M. Normally the race is to see which get's updated first (RI4M is no longer supported). Naturally when a new copy protection comes along, there will be a short period before a program is updated. After all, the techs aren't omniscient.

So far, with the aid of my associates here at AD, I've not run into 1 DVD that I couldn't do a Full DVD backup for. Occasionally it took a wait for software to get updated, and sometimes just a simple edit, but it always got done. Anyone who wants to read the forums and learn the software can easily do the same.

I really appreciate everyones suggestions, I have chosen to just do away with AnyDVD and let DVDFab and Shrink do its thing. It works like a charm. I did find out that the trial version of AnyDvd was interfering with my DVD Shrink that is why it would not work correctly. So until the next issue I have. Thanks to all for your help. DeadRum your the Sh**. The guide is a #1 helper.

No problems. Dont thank me, thank the one who put it together, BBMayo.
If you go to end of the guide and click on home, or even the guides link, you can find a whole lot more on that website than the 1 guide I linked you to.
Matter of fact, I think that PacMan-iac guy whos posted here, also has a guide on that website so his opinion might be worth listening to also...

Deadrum
The guide I did along with bb is obsolete now or most of it anyway.

Many people run into problems when they leave AnyDVD on and try to use other decryption software. Some work and some don't. Last time I used it, the latest AnyDVD was working with Shrink. DVDFab HD Decrypter decrypts and rips a cleaned file to the HD which is usable by most, if not all, transcoding and encoding programs. Other than Blades of Glory, which requires a simple syntax correction, RI4M also does a cleaned rip to the HD. DVDFab Platinum (retail) is getting the job done as is Slysoft's AnyDVD and CloneDVD2. InterVideo offers a good transcoder as well. DVDIdle's DVD Region + CSS Free is similar to AnyDVD and has been doing a good job as an on the fly decrypter. So, with all these programs and others doing the job, it leaves me wondering why some people can't get the job done with one program, but can another. In those cases the software is either not updated or there's user error. Take your pick, but when the other members say the software is working and the companies say the software has been updated for a particular release, I tend to believe the confirmed statement.
