hi my friend has a 3.11 ta-082 and wants to use homebrew is he skrewed or can i do it?

You've got 2 different options:

1)Downgrade from 3.50 with Lumines.

2)Downgrade from any firmware you feel like with a Pandora battery.

what firmware will pandoras battery downgrade to?

It will downgrade to a "subset" of 1.50 (meaning it is not the whole version), so it is best to update to proper 1.50 once you get there, or update straight to 3.52 M33. This is because it is made for unbricking fully bricked PSPs, but it can be used on functioning ones to downgrade.

Sorry, don't know anythig about coding.

With the battery in service mode (Pandora) it will not be able to be used normally,. But, before you turn it into a Pandora battery if you press triangle in the battery making app, it will save the battery's original eeprom to memory stick, then you can write this code back to the battery to turn it back to normal again when you don't need it.
