It has a chance of full bricking, amazingly small if you don't randomly just turn off the power during the update. (Like about 1 in 500 or something)
PSP, all the way from 1.00 to 5.50 GEN D2 - DS Lite w/ M3DS Real (M3 Sakura v1.34)
PS3 3.01 - iPod Touch 2G 16GB Jailbroken - Xbox 360 60GB - PC, Q6600, 3GB DDR2, GTX260 (216) 896MB

so would recovery work if it failed during upgrade?what if my recovery won't work but it failed to upgrade?does that mean full brick?if recovery doesn't work when semi-bricked then i'm not taking this chance of upgrade.

If the update fails, it can usually undo what it's done and your PSP will be fine, that's why i said 1 in 500.
If you did the update on 500 different PSPs you would be unlucky to have one of them brick. It's such a small chance most people don't even think about it.

It's like a fail-safe, an uninstall, if the M33 update knows that something isn't right, it will try to undo what it's already done and put you back to your previous firmware.
