Alright, I'm new to this forum.

I'm aware there are many threads on Ps2 burning help

I'll give you some info on me that may help you out.

I'm an intermediate/advanced PC user.
I know my way around computers, so don't add things like "how to get into device manager"
I'm quite the person to talk to about computers
I've burnt many DVD's and CD's before
My computer has 2gb of RAM, 3ghz processor.
I'm not sure on the EXACT burning speed of my DVD burner, but it works fine.

Alright, here's my problem.
I use BlindWrite to copy my games to an ISO then burn to a DVD-R.

I burnt a game, and I inserted it into my Ps2 (Yes, it has a modchip) and it's being read as a "DVD-VIDEO". When booting up, it will either say "Insert a PlayStation 2 disc" or will take me to the browser, and I choose the disc (being identified as DVD-VIDEO) and it will just keep taking me back to the browser.

I've tried on both DVD+R and DVD-R

Why can't I get them to work?

Also, if I burn a Ps1 game, will my Ps2 modchip read it?

1) Burn a ps1 game, ps2 can't read it, but I think it depends on the mod chip.

2) I am unfamiliar with blindwrite. You want to burn the iso at half the rated speed of the max speed of the disc.

3) Using fat or slim ps2? I know +r and -r works fine on my fat ps2.

4) What brand discs are you using? It may be helpful to find the media ID codes of these blank discs. You can get it from DVD decrypter under iso read mode, or a free program called DVD identifier.

I'm using a fat Ps2
NTSC Ps2 games work. I bought an NTSC copy of TimeSplitters 2
I'm using EuroLab DVD-R 1-16x

Ok, later I'm going to burn @ half the speed, if it works, I'll post back

Tyvm, burning at half speed worked perfectly.

I'm still awaiting to see if Ps1 games will work on a modded Ps2

If I try to burn a Ps1 game with CloneCD at 1x, I get an error message stating:

Writing to CD failed, ILLEGAL REQUEST: INVALID FIELD IN CDB (5:0x24:0x00)

The real question is how do you play that burnt PS1 game on the PS2. I think you need a special PS1 loading program, I forget what it is called though.

PSXloader?
