Broken the thingy that holds the ribbon cable please help

Man ive gone and broken the bit on the dvd drive that the ribbon cable clips into to hold it into place. The bit that clips down has completely come off. Now I cant get the DVD drive to work, can anyone help me with any recommendations?

Thanks in advance and im sorry I dont know the technical terms :-)

Tried that and no luck, tried double sided tape too, I think I may have busted it but not sure how I can tell!

You are possibly screwed. You broke off the brown thing right? Maybe you could super/hot glue it down so that it will stay in place?

I did this- check that you can't clip it back into place. If i remember correctly, one side has a sort of latch that you can push gently back in and then clip the other side down. it just pops in.

Look carefully at the ends.

My friend, I did this to my last Wii and I'm sorry to tell you that you are screwed. I tried super-gluing it back on the right spot and it just wouldn't work anymore. Sorry.

Its not good...but its possibly not the end...you can probably grab some kynar and solder straight to the board...it wont be easy, but it also wont be impossible,
