I was wondering if I could transfer my HDD from the PS2 and play the game on the PS3?

Is it possible yet?

Thanks in advance
Nate

If you can get HDLoader to load up on the PS3 and the the HDD connected to the PS3, then yes.

Heres the thing I've been trying to figure out with swap magic it is possible to launch elf files. Seeing that hdloader is an elf file there should be no reason that it wouldnt work. There might be complications with the ps3 hdd though. I'm unfamiliar with hd loader but cant you use an external hdd. If thats the case then we might be in luck

As far as I know the HDloader and HDadvance won't work with the PS3 HDD.
I put the disc in and no luck. I get the "unsupported Hardware error" I want to try putting in my ps2 HDD and putting the disc in and trying that.. I don't know if the room mate will let me do that to his PS3 though. I may have to suck it up and buy a PS3 for myself just to try to hack it.

We have to use USBAdvance for that.

And USBAdvance sucks.

It may suck but it's better than nothing. Can someone give that a try and let us know how that works out. I dont have swap magic to try it out on. There may also be the possibility that swap magic will not boot since the 1.92 firmware update. That would be great if it did work that way I dont have to install a switch in my precious machine. Each day we get a little closer to an exploit. I'm curious about other elf files as well like snes station, codemajic, and the one (I cant think of the exact name) that lets you stream iso over your network. Anyone with swap magic please play around a little and post your results.

The thing is most of those hdloaders only support IDE drives, which will give you that hardware error message.

yes PS3 does have a sata HDD Guess I won't be putting my PS2 HDD into. Now I need to get a sata HDD and clone the PS2 HDD to a Sata to use on the PS3.

EDIT- Oh and its a notebook HDD and not a full sized HDD. So basically someone just needs to take the loaders i.e HDAdvance and HDLoader and put a SATA driver on it instead of the IDE. Unless of course Sony has some kind of B.S. encryption or software type stuff to block said loader.
