To all those who have flashed your 360's, Do you need to keep updating your firmware in order to continue to play backups? Im TOTALLY new to all this, So in all fairness, Is having a flashed 360 more convenient then say, Having a modchip like the globe installed?

no, you don't have to keep updating the FW, you only have to keep in mind how you're making your games. if you have ixtreme firmware, you'll need stealthed games.

to me, yes, firmware is so much more conveiniant than a mod chip, easier to install, don't have to turn it on/off, costs less.

Knowledge is power, ignorance is weakness.

i always update my firmware, as soon as i see a new one out i reflash mine. with a mod chip it is the same thing, it needs reflashed from time to time but budro is right, mod chips can be expensive and firmware flash is much easier also.

I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

The Blaster 360 is just an easy way to connect the drive so you can flash, but if you have a Hitachi 79 drive then you might as well get a modchip. With the Hitachi 79 drive your gonna end up doing some solder work, any other drive you shouldn't have a problem with.Take a look and see what drive you have first before getting anything.I don't know just making a suggestion,if you do have a Hitachi 79 drive the Blaster 360 won't work.
