PS2 not reading DVD...hd solution?

HI!
My ps2((v7)pal)after a month without being used doesnt read dvd...
Before this problem, i used hdextreme with a maxtor(250 gb) but now i cannot use the hdextreme(dvd version) and i cannot find the cd version at home...
Ive already downloaded the cdversion an i boot it with swap magic but it crashes when appears "HD ADVANCE CD VERSION"...
Can i use a pen or memorycard to load the games from the harddrive?
I dont have chip on my ps2 only slide card and SM v 2.0
