I just replaced the laser UMD and memory stick board in my PSP. (To anyone that's thinking of doing it...let me tell you it's a complicated and looong process) It's working like new now except one problem that's arisen as soon as I repaired. Sound won't play.

I can get sound working normally if I have earphones in the PSP...that is, sound will come out of the PSP speakers with earphones in. If the earphones are in half way, they'll come out of the earphones...which is weird and pretty screwed up.

Anyone else had this or know what it might be? All wires are in properly. Since sound will work normally if earphones are in, maybe it's the replacement memory stick board that I got that's the problem? (since it has the earphones port on it) Seems like the earphones allows a connection to be made to the speakers that otherwise isn't there if the earphones aren't in..

I have the same prob. I had to replace my memory/WiFi board. When I got it all back together I had no sound from my psp unless I plug in haed phones. I should have known that part was WAY to cheap.
