Ps1 backups on ps2 with swapmagic

Hello,
it says on the swapmagic website that swap magic 3 will play ps1 games/backups
says this on the swap magic site
Swap Magic 3 support almost all SEGA ROMS, SNES ROMS, PS1 & PS2 Games!!
But with them saying this i burnt a psx backup the game was "Final Fantasy 8 NTSC CD1" i burnt this using "Alcohol 120% and the playstation setting that is in alchol at the bottem left.
i booted up my ps2 etc put in swap magic, my swap magic version is "pal 3.6" i have the CD and DVD Cd's i used the CD one since i burnt the game on the CD,
i started swap magic swapped the CD using the "swapset slide card" thing
but when i press the "load program" button i get "Not a valid PS2 Disc"
the cd i used was
can you lot help me with my problem;

p.s. do i need that coder to play ps1 backups ?

I don't see anywhere on the swap magic site that it says will play PS1 backups. Which site were you on.
We have a couple threads here on how to play PS1 backups depending what version pS2 you have. Read through this thread:

Well your right its there, I don't recall it being there before,unless there is some new method of booting PS1 games with it.
Do a google search and you will see that no one else has gotten PS1 games to boot with swap magic. Gameshark will boot PS1 games.

i sent them a email asking why it doesn't work wetc but they havn't replied, mabye i need coder, i could of seen if it was coder through that video but the vids been removed off youtube

cyber i think you need a ps2 with the bios schp 7001 or somthing like that for that exploit, not sure i'll give it a go

Ok I tried the PS1 backup with my Swap Magic 3.8 CD and all I get is the green color, and then nothing. Green means its ok, but having trouble reading the disc.
This is from the swap magic official site.
Just scroll down a bit where it asks if Swap magic will play PS1 backups. The answer is no.

Q. Does Swap Magic work with PSX backup and/or import games?
A. Pure and simple NO! The Swap Magic Discs are designed to give the best possible performance for PlayStation2 games only. PSX games has not been considered at all in the development, and will not be in the future! To play PSX backups, you will need another backup solution, and should not choose the Slide-Tool.
that has been there forever ish, i know swap magic din't play psx backups,
but then all of a sudden they are now saying that it does so i don't know

On a V3 no it won't work sorry, you would need breaker pro disk or a gameshark disk to boot PS1 backups.

You need Breaker Pro for PS1 games. It's like Swap Magic except only for PS1 games.
