This may be a stupid question, but did you flash the chip? If not, did it come pre flashed? If so what bios is on it and what version of the console do you have? Also did you get the solderless version or the one you have to solder? Did you solder it yourself?
-check the d0 connections
-check the LPC connections
-check if your chip isn't making a connection with the xbox-case or other parts
If you did solder it yourself, open the box back up and try to clean up the top D0 solder point as good as you can, and use the D0 point underneath the motherboard imstead, its so much easier. Let me know if you need any additional help.

Since it boots up twice and then frags that means your D0 wire or pogo pin is correctly grounding D0.
Has to be either a bad bios on the chip, bad connection with the LPC or a bad chip.

Thank you guys so much for replying I have tried many other forums and got no replys for this newbie question.
It is connected with a pogo pin adapter and the mod chip and the external switch lite up. I purcased the chip from xbox-modchips.com and have sent a couple of emails to them asking if the chip has been pre flashed, with no reply's
If it does need to be flashed for the first time with cromwell bios how would i do that?
because after it boots up twice then frags and frags I can get the disctray open manually is there any special way to flash the chip for the first time?

If its fragging it could mean that the d0 point isnt connected correctly.

I went to that website you gave and it says it is preflashed. Do you have an Xbox that has a recent manufacture date? I have had issues with the newer Xbox (v1.4 and v1.5) and was only able to get it working after flashing it with Evox M7 BIOS. Those Xboxes I have worked on were doing what yours is doing now.. flashing red and green after two reboots. Find out what version Xbox you have, that may be the issue.

If it reboots twice it's not the D0 point it's either the chip, bios or connection to the LPC.
With pogo pins make sure that all the pins are extended fully. That none get stuck in when you press them.
You'll only be able to flash it with an external programmer if the preflashed bios is bad or it hasn't been flashed at all.

On that thought does anybody know where I can get a good premodded xbox w/120 gigs+software?
thanx again for all the help.

Salsa,
Where are you and what chip are you looking for?
Chameleon premods get-modded.com
X2 premods system-mods.com
nesty2k3,
The LPC bus is where the Matrix chip pogo pins contact the motherboard. 2 rows of holes filled with solder in your case.

Spine,
Unless there is somthing wrong with the motherboard, D0 has to be ground to get the 3 reboots. If it wasn't grounded then it would boot to the TSOP and load the original M$ bios. Unless the TSOP was no good.

I am getting the same error, someone please help! I forget, I have a 1.0 or 1.1 xbox, but I have the solderless Xecuter 2.2 lite plus chip. It was in for 3 weeks, no problems what so ever.
I tried to start it up this morning and all I get is the 3 failed startups, then it frags. Ends with the blinking red/green/red/green What is causing this? I have checked and I am pretty sure the DO point is fine, I mean it worked before, what should I do? I have moved the chip around a million times! It either loads up normal M$ or it frags....

Try reflashing your bios... this is probably the cause!

Like......if i start my system up when it would NORMALly work......without a game... it goes to the evolution screen and says "slayers evolution v+ 3921" so does that mean I have version 3921..... cuz I thought I put on evox 4979 unless those are 2 different things.... Thanks.

These are two different things! :) 3921 is the version of the menu... the other is the version of the bios!

Same problem.
Xbox 1.1 Xecuter 2.3 lite plus.
I was installing the chip and was turning off and on while trying to find d0 point. Chip doesn't light up anymore. Xbox starts up twice and third time frag. Dvd drive blocked. Annoying to say the least.
What can i do?
Can i get back to before? The good old days of MS dash and ejecting?

I am having the blinking red light problem with my xecuter 2.3 lite and it is from my black wire in the lclk hole (the hole to the right of the ground). I may have damaged the hole although it still looks ok inside. I know it's the problem because the voltage is reading 0.000 and it should read 0.2v (from what i've heard). I originally used wires but now i have the pins header in and it is still having problems with the same thing. Any ideas on how to fix the hole if it is damaged or a good way to ensure there is a solid connection? Please any help will be appreciated. v1.0 xbox.

I was having the same problem with my 2.2 pro chip. Try this link and follow the instructions to reflash the chip. I used the evox 4979. The instructions there are easy to follow.
