Please reply to this thread whoever can help me out. I heard I will have to hotswap it which I can do because computer case is open at the moment. Just need the tutorial! Thanks

Yeah, I know about your tutorials I was reading them few things I do not understand on the upgrading HDD one. (Which I hope is the one I should be following. BTW If I do this will my xbox be unbanned from xbox live?

Okay so what you are saying here one cable is unplugged on the CD-Rom? And If it is is it the bigger one in there or the small one. AND Does it have to be CD Drive. I've only got 2 DVD Drives in it.

Okay here is similar to the one up above this one. Do I have both cables in or just big one, or small one. Sorry I'm just so confused.

Well that's about it the rest I find is just straight forward. So if you can just help me with those 2 thanks!

if you get xboxhdm their is an excellent readme that comes with it and explains how to use it. You want your xbox hd to be master is what it is saying.

Normally there will be two IDE cables (Big flat grey cables) coming from your motherboard. One will go to your HDDs (unplug those) and the other will be attached to your CD\DVD drives (leave those in)

You now plug the 'free' cable (that we unplugged from your PC HDD) into the Xbox HDD.

Following...?

The HDD rebuild in Xboxhdm will do it automatically!

Take a look at the YouTube video's in my Hotswap tutorial, they'll show you exactly what I'm talking about!

Gizza205 - that sig pic is 117kb instead of the allowed max of 50kb

Signatures

1. Text-only signatures should have at most 5 lines of text.

2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall.

3. If you use an animated picture in the signature, it should not be too distractive. Eg. blinking images or images with quick movement are not allowed.

4. If you want to use both text and image in your signature the image should not be more than 500 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall, and you can use up to three lines of text.

If your pc loads xp, you need to change the bios settings and change the boot priority so that the cd or dvd-rom drives attempts to boot from disc first. You need to create a lunix iso that xboxhdm generates long with the contents of C and E along with your eeprom. If you recorded a disc by just placing the contents into the folders without letting the program generate the iso, it will not boot because it doesn?t contain the boot system files.

Changing the hard drive will not unban you. You need to have the stock 8-10GB to sign onto xbox live if you weren't banned if not you would still get banned. The only way to get the green light would be to get another an unbanned eeprom chip. If you are not a highly skilled solder this wouldn?t be a possibility. You can have someone do it for you but if would cost much money, its either that or get another xbox.

If you are banned, you are banned via your eeprom.

The eeprom does NOT have to be removed, it can be re-flashed with a new code. That's why it's called Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory.

This can be achieved with an Eeprom reader\writer.

You can also use any HDD to sign onto Xbox LIVE, just as long as you are booting from the MS Dash, not the modded one!
