If there were something "new proof" as you put it, this forum would be flooded with comments regarding it. Do some search and you'll find plenty of tutorials on how to flash your 360. If you get stuck, ask nicely and many will help. But then, if money isn't an issue here, i have a solution for you. Buy two copies of every game you want to play and own, play one and keep the other sealed for keepsake, no need to open your 360 so the warranty would be intact, voila~ Hey man, might as well buy some games for your friends as well!

Jesus.. even if my reply seemed condescending, if you actually read it and understood it, you wouldn't be asking the same question again. There's no way to flash the 360 without opening it. Like bailey07 said, it's pretty easy to open the outer shell. I had a rough time trying to flash it, but opening it was pretty easy. If you buy the opening tool i'm sure it'll be easier to get the job done, but in my opinion, you really don't need it as long as you have a Precision Screwdriver Set. After you open the outer shell, you'll need the torx 10 screwdriver to remove the dvd drive. All your friends consoles will have to be opened as well, might as well familiarize yourself with your 360 first. As for the blaster 360, i don't think you should waste your money on it. After i struggled through my first flash, i've done a couple more for my friends. Luckly, the flashing part went real smooth. As for opening the box, it was really easy since i had already experienced it with my console.

People do flash 360s with laptops. You need pcmcia sata card, buy the one with the chipset compatible with your 360's drive.

PCMCIA, think of it as an expansion card that fits in that little slot on the side of your laptop. 360s use sata drives, therefore they are connected with sata cables and you need to have sata ports available on your laptop if you wish to link them. Here's an example, example
These cards have different chipsets and you have to buy the card that's compatible with your xbox's drive. If any of your friends own a desktop with an oboard sata, you might want to try on their pc first. Save some time in ordering and deliveries. Download and read this first
textbook
Somehow, i don't think you've read the "Textbook" yet. It'll answer most of your question.
