i did. i placed mortal kombat unchained on a folder name ISO in my memory stick root but when i go to the game on my psp the game only shows the psp eboot and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. i already placed a UMD when i go into the mk game but still nothing works. do i need devhook or something. remember that my psp firmware is 3.03 oe-c.

Try and update to 3.52 M33 and see if that works.
It could be your CPU speed, go into Recovery, and set CPU speed in games to 333mhz.
If that doesn't work you'll probably have to upgrade anyway.

do i change the kernel to 1.50 or to 3.03? do i unblable or disable the option that says "Use NO-UMD (currently: Disabled)

Make sure No UMD is Disabled and that you have a UMD in the drive, kernel should be at 1.50.

nope still dont work. just to be sure does the ISO folder need to be besides the psp folder or inside of it?

Beside it, upgrade to 3.52 M33 and see how you fair:
Here you can find the 3.52 M33 update files.
You will also need the 1.50 EBOOT and 3.52 EBOOT files. You can get these here and here.
Ignore the instructions on the Sony website, just get the file from "Download procedure" step 3.
You will have to extract the 1.50 EBOOT file, but the 3.52 file is already extracted. Name the 1.50 EBOOT to 150.PBP and the 3.52 EBOOT to 352.PBP.
Now take the M33CREATOR folder and place it on your PSP at this location: ms0:/PSP/GAME150/
Now place both the 150.PBP and 352.PBP files into the M33CREATOR folder on your PSP.
You can now disconnect your PSP from your computer and run the update. After it has finished it will have created another icon on your PSP, run this, after that has finished you will have firmware 3.52 M33.
Make sure your battery charge is above 75% and/or has a charger plugged in before you do the update.

Wait, ignore that, Sony changed the 3.52 update to the 3.71 update earlier today i think...
I'll find the 3.52 Update from somewhere else, or you could use a WInstaller.

It'll take you to 3.52 M33, you'll be able to update to 3.71 M33 when it comes out.
