Hi, I have quite a few questions because I really don't understand how to play my PSP online.
1. What equipment do I need? I heard you need a wireless router but I'm not sure.
2. How do you connect the router up? I have an adsl modem and I dont know whether that has to be plugged into the router or the computer or what. Also my modem uses a usb connection, not ethernet so if I need to connect the modem to the router is it possible to get a wireless router that has usb sockets so I can plug my modem into it?
3. Is it possible to lock the router or set a password so that nobody can connect to it?
4. Is it possible to set my PSP up so that I can play games online but not use the internet browser?
5. Is there any charge to use the PSP online service?
1) Yes, just a wireless router.
2) Yes, you have to connect the router to the modem.
3) Yes, it's called a WEP key (WEP password).
4) Well if you have a game in which you can play using infrastructure, then yes.
5) No.
Make sure the protocol is 802.11b not g. Otherwise it might not work. But depending on what router you have, g might work. I advise on a NETGEAR router.
