I have a couple back-up of DVD that I let my sister watch. I don't want to let her use the orginal because she doesn't really know how to handle DVD (I.E. she puts her fingers on the data side, etc.)

Anyways, when I first make the back-up, it plays perfectly fine. But over time skipping and freezing occurs. Any idea what is going on? The media id is TTH02. TDK branded DVD. Any ideas is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Tips for getting a good quality burn:
- use good quality media from Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and Made in Japan labeled Fuji or Sony.
- burn at half or less the rated speed of the media.
- make sure the burner firmware is up to date.
- don't multitask while burning. Shutdown unnecessary programs.
- keep your hard disk drive defragmented.

A disk that was marginal to begin with may deteriorate.
Different DVD players have different tolerance for the amount of errors that they can handle.
One of the tools included with Nero is "Nero CD-DVD Drive Speed"
It allows you to scan the DVD in the burner and it will tell you if any errors are present on the disk.
The tool is also a free download.
