Hi,

I've got all the flies from dl.qj.net but still need some help. I have the two update files 352.PBP and 150.PBP and when I clicked properties they show as 352.PBP.PBP. and 150.PBP.PBP. I don't wanna brick my psp so should I keep both of them or just one? Help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

PSP 1.5 - 3.52 M33

keep both and make sure they are in the m33 creator folder then just put the folder(s) in the game folder and then your PSP will restart and then run the CFW installer and youre done

Right so I'm on 3.30 OE custom firmware, I don't need to downgrade to 1.5 or anything right, before upgrading to 3.52 M33?

Make sure they are 352.PBP and 152.PBP not 352.PBP.PBP and 150.PBP.PBP

You can upgrade from OE versions to M33 but some have had issues doing it that way (Some have done it with no issues also).

So you might want to downgrade to 1.50 then up to 3.52 M33 then 3.52 M33-4 anyway.

You can downgrade to 1.50 by downloading this RECOVERY folder. Extract the file and it will extract a Recovery folder. Place it in the ms0:/PSP/GAME folder. Then go into recovery mode and select RUN PROGRAM AT /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP

This will downgrade your PSP to 1.50. Then you can go ahead and update to 3.52 M33. If you decide to go to 1.50 then upgrade to M33 make sure you drag the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% that is in the 1.50only folder of the M33 Upgrade to the ms0:/PSP/GAME folder along with the M33CREATOR. Run the KXploit permanent patcher first. Then run the M33CREATOR.

You can skip the KXploit step if you decide to go from the OE version straight to the 3.52 M33 CFW.

Make sure the PSP is turned off. Hold the PSP power button up till the power led turnes off {pushing it up and letting it go only puts it in sleep mode).

When it is off hold the R shoulder button down while truning on the PSP. It should boot into recovery mode menu. (Make sure you keep the R button down during power on)

If you do this and the screen dosen't come on try hitting the brightness button.

If you have 2.81 you have 3 options to downgrade to 1.50 so you can install 3.52 M33.

1) Update to 3.03 and use the Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories exploit downgrader.

2) Update to 3.50 and use the Lumines game exploit downgrader.

3) Use the Pandora Battery unbricker/downgrader method. You will need to know someone that has a PSP with 1.50 or CFW installed on it to create the Pandora battery for you.

Guides for option 1 & 2 are HERE.

Guide for option 3 (Pandora battery) is HERE.

You would be able to run homebrew on 1.50 but most PSP games wouldn't work (Any game that requires a firmware over 1.50 wouldn't work) Plus 1.50 does not have PSX support.

Updating to 3.52 M33 you have the use of both 1.50 and 3.52 kernel. So you can run everything that 1.50 can run plus more. (Homebrew/All PSP games/PSX games etc. etc.)

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder and the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher. It should run and say patched successfully and reboot back to the XMB.

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware. If it is then format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder inside that update folder into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

You don't need to worry about the seplugin folder in the 3.52 M33-4 update if your not going to play PSX games. If you are then let me know and I will explain what that plugin is all about.

sry for double post but I get kinda lost after upgrading to 3.52 M33.

So basically I format the memory stick, get the M33 - 4 update and drag in the update folder, overwriting everything, then run it. Then format again.

Correct me if im wrong please.
Thanks,

dayng LARRIE! your like a super hero in the homebrew scene! ;D. You came to my rescue twice. Thanks. Anyway, dil333. It only takes less than a minute to install the 4th update of m33. You format your memory stick on 3.52m33 then toggle USB Drag the update in the GAME150 folder, to the GAME150 folder on your memory stick. Run it, and right when you push X, 2 seconds later it will say you upgraded. LOL. Format again and enjoy! Also recovery has new settings. You might want to touch that up to. with sonys NP960 or whatever it is NOUMD function.

>>LARRIE- or anyone, if you know how to do the hard reset on homebrew, let me know. It's enabled in recovery for no reason! haha

@DEVINRL

The "Hard Reset On Homebrew" Means the PSP should turn off when exiting homebrew, instead of Exiting straight to the XMB.

@dil333

Download the above 3.52 M33-4 update. The file is named M33-1234a.rar after you extract it it should extract a M33-1234a folder.

Click on the M33-1234a folder and inside that folder is a PSP folder and a seplugins folder. Don't worry about the seplugins folder all you need to do is drag the PSP folder into the root of your PSP Memory Stick. All your doing is replacing the PSP folder in the update with the PSP folder on the root of your PSP MS. So choose YES TO ALL when it ask to overwrite.

---------------------------------------------------------------

For those wanting the seplugin for PSX download this SEPLUGIN file.

Extract the file wich will extract a seplugin folder. Drag this folder to the root of the PSP MS. After you do that turn off your PSP and go into recovery mode (Hold R shoulder button down while turning on the PSP)

When your in recovery menu go down to PLUGINS and press X. Now go to popsloader plugin and enable it by pressing X. Now go back and exit from the recovery menu.

Now when you start your PSX games a pops menu will come up with the following versions.

3.0/3.01/3.02/3.03/3.10/3.11/3.30/3.40/3.51 and Original from flash (3.52)

You will need to choose a pops version to use. After you choose the version it will remember what pops version to load for that game.

If you choose a pops version that doesn't launch the PSX game or the game lags or freezes you can change to a different version by holding down the R shoulder button while starting the PSX game.

---------------------------------------------------------------

For those that want to set NO UMD on the M33 CFW do the below.

Go into recovery (Hold R shoulder button down while turning on PSP).

When it boots to recovery go down to configuration and press X.

Then go down to UMD MODE and keep pressing X till you see Sony NP 9660 NO UMD

When you see that option under UMD MODE go up to BACK and press X.

Go down to EXIT and press X. You will be booted into the XMB. Which you can now run ISO/CSO games without a UMD in the Bay. (The Sony NP9660 NO UMD option is most compatible with ISO/CSO games. So I would recommend that setting over the other NO UMD settings.)

No yo would need to use the Pandora Battery unbricker/downgrader method. You will need to know someone that has a PSP with 1.50 or CFW installed on it to create the Pandora battery for you.

Here is a GUIDE for creating the Pandora battery..

Did you use the Pandora method to downgrade then upgrade to 3.51 M33?

You should update to 3.52 M33 then 3.52 M33-4

Also what version of final fantasy are you playing?

PSP version or PSX version?
