I am looking to buy a brand new psp and mod it to 3.52 m33-4. is it a long drawn out process or can it be done in 15 min

well if you get a 3.51 or 3.52 then you must do the pandora battery which you will need a spare battery and memory card or use the one that came with it. if you a 3.50 or lower then you can us the lumines exploit.

if i were you, i would get the new psp(psp 2000) and hack it to 3.60 m33.:)

It's not hard to Downgrade then Upgrade to Custom FirmWare (CFW) but you should read a bit about it before you do it, it just saves time, now that Pandora's Battery is available there is not actual risk of bricking a PSP but it just saves time and resources doing it right the first time.

Tip: Read the readme files in the CFW zip

BTW: This only works on the Original Fat PSP at the moment.
