Two updates in two weeks. When the fake 2.0 features were leaked a lot of people starting figuring the real 2.0 was going to be released right before Home is released. We are less than a month away from Home's release. My guess is that he new firmwares are really patchs for Home. I'm really hoping that the 2.0 firmware is going to give some more great features also.

with such a small update, i wonder why it takes so long to download...
i really, really hope 2.0 will include in game xmb access. if it only had that i would still be happy. and hopefully soon after we get that, they will implement playing our own music in game, too.
edit: oh and the sony blog says the 1.93 update "fixes the network disconnect issue that some of you have experienced as a result of downloading Firmware 1.92."

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

xbox might sue? Sue on what grounds? Because it's a complete knockoff? Dating back to the history of competition, products have always been similar or completely ripped off. Unless microsoft has the exclusive rights to having in-game music, which they don't, there's no way they can sue.

you know.. knowing microsoft. they probably patented the idea of a computer operating system with such and such and in-game music. or maybe just patented the idea of in-game music. like they own the idea of an mp3 player interface with a certain structure (i.e. ipods, apple pays ms for its own ipod interface because of this.)

I have seen on the PS forums that if you disconnect your media server this would help fix the firmware download issue.Give it a try i didn't have any problem downloading it.Everyone having this issue what kind of router do you guys have?

Had a hard time with this update last night. Did anyone else notice that the US playstation network only had the 1.92 firmware but when the PS3 did the scan for a firmware update it says that the firmware is up to 1.93. I had to go to the australian site of the playstation network to get the 1.93 update so that I could put it in my memory stick pro duo and install it in the PS3.

I had no problems with this or the last update, though both took about half an hour or more to download.

It finally worked for me after powering off totally and disabling the insternet connection. After diong that it failed at 4% and then I tried again and it worked. I checked playstation.com but havent since yestreday. it didnt show the 1.93 update. So What does this new update allow you to do now?

If the pwering off does not work, make sure all usb devices are disconnected. I had the same problem and that's what worked for me.
