Hey i need 2 modify my PS2 !! The version im using is SCPH-79001 and i bought a pirated game to play but it says " Please insert a playstation or playtation2 compatible disk"!! Its a brand new PS2 and i havent played it all !
Can anyone tell me y this is happening and how am i supossed 2 solve this problem of mine? Am i only supossed 2 use original PS2 CD's or is there a way i can do something abt it ? I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT ANYTHING AT ALL. But ive heard that theres something called modchip\swap disks but still no idea!! Pls help !

You know, buying pirated games is highly illegal. :)

But for the sake of argument here, yes, you need to get a modchip for your ps2.

Now getting modchips in the USA right now is near impossible because of the FBI raids. What I suggest you look into is getting swap magic and slide too, or swap magic with the magic keys.

Do you have fat ps2 or slim ps2?

1st of all i live in India & i dun have any such FBI problem.
I have a slim PS2 ?
Can i get it done in the Sony showroom ?
Whats a modchip & how do i fit it ? Where do i buy it?

You said near impossible :) Can give a hint were I might get a Metrix green dot ship to te US with out getting burned and not get my money back.
