is it possible to stream my media to my xbox if my laptop is wirelessly connected to the router and then the xbox is wired to the router... My network scheme follows the same picture as the one in the manual except my laptop is wireless..

if so how do you do it??

Yes you can. Download a program called orb. Its free and works great with the 360 allowing you to stream any kind of format that you have codecs for on your PC.

First off you have to have file sharing on. Once you have that done you need to go to media blade and then video's then connect to the computer. It will be listed as orb:thennameofmachine . then you browse through and then play your video. Any folder you want shared you have to be sure its assigned to be shared and is also listed in your shared folder list in orbs configuration. I most likley cannot explain it well enough. Do some internet research on the subject and you should get a good tutorial.

when I go to the media blade and try to connect to my PC it wont work, the wireless is greyed out as well (but I think thats for wireless)

see i dont want to have to wire my laptop to my router, its wireless.. but my xbox IS connected to the router.. so in theory it should work.. what am I doing wrong?

finally figured it out, I just use WMP instead of some third party software, be sure to open the correct TCP/UDP ports on your firewall
