Hi guys i have a small problem im hoping someone could help me with. When i try to system link my xbox 360 through a hub with a few friends nothing happens. I try to search for there games but it always comes up with nothing found. One of my friends said because i set it up with my media center pc i blew a chip or something where the ethernet cable goes and thats why i cant link through a hub. I have also tried system linking as well but to no avail. I tried to reset the xbox 360 networking back to default but nothing. I even tried linking through my usb with a ethernet adaptor but still nothing. Please someone help me find the answer, Halo 3 is so close and im looking forward to system linking as i bet meveryone is
Thanks

Hi you need to isolate the problem by linking 2 360s together with a crossover cable that should work no problem then that would mean your hub is the fault. could just need reconfiguring with your 360s.

That and also if one of your friends has the live updates for the game and you dont. You will also need to update through live.
You can isolate this problem by both of you taking off your hard drives and try to system link.

i agree, try to eliminate the hub with a direct cable, the only thing i want to add is you dont have to have the crossover cable you can use a standard rj45 cable if both systems are 360's.
I have lost all and any respect i had for this site!

Hi guys thanks for all your help, I found the problem. I called up the xbox hotline and after waiting for 45 minutes they told me it was a update problem with gears of war. Apparently they messed up a patch for gears of war and all i had to do was either update the new patch or clear the memory cache. Incase anyone has a problem in the future with systemlinking any games what you will need to do is..
1. Make sure no game is in the console and turn it on.
2. Go to system, then memory.
3. Press y.
4. Then press x,x,lb,rb,x,x quickly.
5. If it is done correctly it will come up with do you want to perform maintanince on your xbox 360, say yes.
6. Thats it the memory cache is now cleared.
The only problem is that you will have to update your games again, (you will not loose any saved games or achievements).
Thanks again for all those people who helped me :)

Glad to see that you got it worked out. Even happier to see you actually came back and posted on how others can fix the problem. Great work.
