BenQ 1620 dvd burner, can burn back ups?

Hi all, i was wondering if anyone has/could tell me if benq 1620 can back up games. I plan to invest in a kreon drive, but im not sure if i need to update my burner first.

Also what is bitsetting, i've read your drive has to support it.

Buy the kreon drive to backup the games.
If your dvd burner isnt a DL burner then you'll have to buy a DL burner.
