Yes, those are GDR-8160B, which has been reported to work by Wiible.

$25.38 is on the high side though, especially when you still need to add shipping on to that. Let us know how much shipping is if you decide to order.

Don't you guys know how to use eBay? You can get much better deals on these there and all you have to do is click the link I provided.

For example, why not get this 8163B here for about $13 including shipping and get a free powersupply with it, this was included in my search link in the first post:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130173597803

Of course, now that I posted it, you'll probably have to bid on it with others...

Or how about this 8162B for $1, shipping will probably be about $10-15 from Canada. And you get a free floppy drive too.

I thought I made everything clear in the first post!! It's amazing the questions people are still asking me, when it's already been said...

Just click the link in the first post and you will see them all.

I have not seen any reports that those two will work. Once again, all drives reported to work are listed in the FIRST post.

Here are some pretty good deals on 8164 and 8163 drives. They are about $20 each with free shipping:

After looking around for a bit on eBay, I couldn't find anything that was cheap enough and didn't have many bids. I had bid up to $25 on a drive yesterday and today I saw it went for $42 (816x series).

This store has some 8160Bs in stock (quantity 95 right now) for $25.

Scratch that, they just emailed me and said they sold their last one last night, and there's no ETA on future drives.

So much for gigwarehouse, I called them and the number is disconnected. I've removed it from post. I emailed them just in case the number has changed and will repost if I get a reply.

Not the best deal I've seen, but here is an eBay Buy It Now, which includes two drives, GDR-8161B & GCE-8481B for $32 shipped:

Just an update, I found a 8161b model from eBay here. At this time there's a quantity of 69 left. $20 + $10 shipping = $30 total.

Thanks for posting that! You can also make an offer. And if you buy more than one, additional shipping is $5 per drive. So, I'm sure many will appreciate that. I would try making an offer for $10 or $15 just to see.

Here's an 8160B BUY IT NOW for $25 shipped or best offer.

You're welcome! I also updated the search strings in the original post to remove more unwanted results and added a Buy It Now link. Hopefully this should make it quite simple.

Here's two drives an 8163 and a 8162 for $20 each shipped and get 8 other drives free! :)

Do these burners only read the wii and gamecube discs, and not write? If so, do I have to use another DVD drive to write the data on to a DVD-R?

This is the DVD drive that I am thinking of buying.
