Hi their,

After trying to flash a image as my new dbox did not work after many days of trying to when I received it, I now get the dreaded Kein Image.

DOes anyone know how to flash a new image? I cant even connect via ftp over a direct cable x-over cable link so I have no idea as to how I get a image on it.

Please help me lol

Cheers

Luke

Wot image is on it now mate
Did you flash a 1 x image on it or a 2 x image
You need a copy of IFA
And just flash a new image over the top of the one thats on.Paul

Hi,

Yer I tryed using IFA, but no luck. The thing I am wondering though is how do I know what IP address is my dbox is when its saying Kein System, I dont even know if I am using the right IP for it as it does say it can not ping it.

I am pretty sure I am using the righ x image for it, mines a Sagem dbox2, I took a look last night and only say 1 chip.

Cheers

You dont need an ip to use ifa mate
If you have more than one network card
Disable the one you aint useing

With your box switched off at the wall load Ifa
When you get the warning you are about to flash push ok and power up your box at the wall
If it dont say flashing within 10 secs turn off at the wall and back on repeat this untill it says flashing in the LCD It may take an hour but it will go in the end

Hi,

bigdunc it finally started to flash, all seemed to go ok, I waited about 40 minutes but it just kinda hanged and nothing happened. SO rebooted the dbox and got Kein System again, how long should a flash take? And how do I know when it has completed?

Hi,

Yer I think im going in thr right direction.

On the LCD it just says
Dbox2-IFA
Lade Software
and some website address

But this is all it does. The IFA software gets to a certain point where it seems to have loaded everything, but will not say anything like flash completed. I have tryed 3 different images now, is their something specific I have to do for a Sagem Dbox2?

Cheers

OK this is basically what I get when I flash any image:

***Adapter Desc: NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller #2 - Packet Scheduler Miniport (via IpHlpApi #0)

This happens every time. I am just using a x-over cable from my PC to the dbox with all the static IP addressing in place.

After 1.5hrs I got this tonight:
Started?.. Status NFS: 9,657,084 (RX) ? 2,052,660 (TX)

Please anybody any ideas on what to try? Do I have to get a null modem cable like I keep reading about or will my x-ocer cable do?

Cheers

It looks like there is a problem with the backup of the current content of the flash via NFS.
Try the older IFA version 1.5.6. That version don't do a backup.
