ok...so it's like this...i have a ps2 slim...i have swapmagic 3 and all the tools that i need to play ! all is working the games are working but i have a little question....! at swap magic for ps2 slim are 3 objects that you have to put in the ps2 in order to run swap magic and to run the games...! and to leave the case open...! the question is ... will this affect my ps2..? it will broke in time? or is ok?! oh and another question...one of those 3 objects that you have to put in the ps2 has entered in my ps..the on that is located at the right of the lentil....and i made somethin'...just like that one... to make the swap to work... it will affect my ps2? if it isn't the original object...that came with the swap? and will affect the ps2 if that object is in my ps2..? plz answer thanx a lot

Those three tools will not affect the ps2. I have been using them for like 1 1/2 years now and it's still good. It is a good option because there is no need to void the warranty. Also they can be removed. Though I do not recommend it because if they are removed enough the adhesive will no longer be sticky and you will need to use tape or something else.

thanx for the answer...but what do yo mean...you don't recomand.. to remove them? to remove what? that 3 things that you have to put in the ps2 slim in order to run the swap?

so...what shall i do... to let them in the ps2 ? cuz every time when i shutdown the ps2..when i finish playing... i remove them... is that bad..? i should let them all the time in the ps2? :|

Well it isn't necessarily bad, I would say just a hassle. Do you have magic keys or magic switch? Cause if you have magic keys you should be able to close the lid.

nop... i dont think so... i just have... that 3 things that you have to put in the ps2...and the 2 swap discs... the compact disc and the dvd....! i have a ps2 slim...! oh..and i forgot.. one of that 3 things... has entered in the ps2...that one that you have to put at the right of the lentil...and i made somethin like that...to block that thing...in order.. to work.. the swap..and it appears.. that is workin..! i don't understand.. you have a ps2 slim? if yes.. tell me how do you do.. with all this... cuz when i am finish playing... i always remove the swap kit...to say like that..

Ok so you have all of them installed as they were supposed to but not the second one (tool b). If you have them installed correctly you should be able to close the lid while you are playing a game.

yup...i dont have tool B....it went in the ps2...but i made something just like that... and is working... it blocks that thing... i don't think this could be a problem right? yes thank you for that.. link with the tutorial for ps2 slim kit pro.. i didn't know about it..

but i can close the lid...but when i loat the swap... and in enter the dvd with a game.. and close the lid.. it doesn't read it.. :| and if i let the lid open it reads the pirate dvd...:|

Hmm, I had a similar case with my tools. You will most likely need to readjust tool C. Is your ps2 still under warranty? Because if it isn't then it would just be so much easier to open it and tape the little switch down...

nop...it isn't under waranty....one more question..when you put the 3 tools a b c in youre ps2... and start to play and close the lid... i can see that the lid it stays closed..bu it is a bit.. forced...it will damage somethin? and i dunn know how to open my ps2.. :(

Yes, it will be forced a bit, but as long as you open and close the lid carefully you should be fine. Mine has been like that and it is still ok.
As for opening the ps2 this page has an ok tutorial on opening the ps2 and it shows you a picture of the switch you need to tape down, though they cover it up with a piece of plastic, because these are instructions for installing the ghost switch.

ok... now i have all the 3 tools i put them in the ps2 ! i and the games are working ! but ! i can't close the lid when i am playing because when
i change the swap disc with the pirate game and close the lid then the ps2 starts to spin the disc ! and i can't load it from the swap soft because it starts spinning very quick and then it says to put a ps2 disc in the console or somethin like that...but when it is the lid open the disc it stops spinning i put the pirate game and run the swap soft and it is working...

i need to know ! when i put the 3 tools in the ps2 and start to play shall o close the lid every time? or let the lid open? and shall i remove the 3 magic keys from the ps2 every time i finish playing or to let them for ever in the ps2 with the lid closed and when i need to play just to open the list insert the swap disc then change it with the pirate game disc close the lid and start playing? ! what is the best method to don't damage my ps2... with this

It could very well be the tools fault and not your own.
Yes I have opened up a ps2, both slim and original.

Honestly though I would recommend Magic Keys 2. As the third tool that needs to push down the switch inside the ps2 is really thin and made of metal. Also Magic Keys 2 is compatible with all versions of the slim ps2.


You can get them here at Ultimateconsoleguides for $6.00 shipped (they call it magic keys v3 for some reason). Or if you have a older version of the slim ps2 you can get magic keys v1 for $4.00 shipped.

ok i have a ps2 slim v13 with SCPH-70004 ! and this swap magic kit !


if you can tell me what is the best method to deal with this swap magic on the ps2 slim for keeping the console and the swap kit in good shape ! :)

oh and btw...i can close the lid when i change the discs the swap one withe the pirate game ! and it works fine ! with no problems! but i can see that the lid is a little bit forced it's a bit bumped or something like that....not more just a little bit is that normal?

If you got it to close, and it still works then it is doing its job correctly. It is perfectly normal for it to be a little forced.
modchip.com and mod-chip.com both ship worldwide (if I remember correctly) so you could get magic keys 2 from them. The only thing is that they charge like about $15 and then plus shipping.
