i can't find any software to shrink a dvd properly to fit on one disc. Is it easier to just leave it and put it onto 2 discs. If so what software do i use or can you help me find the right programs to shrink the DVD to fit on one disc??

Well I am not sure what you mean by "shrink" it? Do you mean to take out parts of a movie to make it smaller or you mean like trying something to compact it(though I am not sure if their is something like that)

But I am pretty sure you will have to put it on 2 dvds since if the company what made it put on 2 cds I guess you should to. Even though the compaines can put theirs prob on 1 cd since they can burn both sides(like gods and generals all on 1 cd got to flip it over to next side when first side done) unlike the blank dvds you can buy here what are one sided and your burners can only burn one side.

All my purchased DVD movies are burned on one side only, The other side has a label in most cases. There are several programs avalible to compress a DVD. I use Shrink 3.0 beta 5. It is quite easy to use if the guides are followed and also allows one to remove unwanted portions from their DVD. (and it's free!) This program will install video files onto your hard drive into a folder you have made called VIDEO_TS. You will then need another program to burn the files you have put in VIDEO_TS to a blank, compatable disc. I use Burnatonce, Nero 6 or other programs I have, following the guides. I would urge you to use DVD +/-R/W media for your first few attempts so you can record over any mistakes that may occur.and it saves money to buy quality media.

ya most are just burned on 1 side with the dvds.But their are cases that are burned on both sides like I mentioned Gods and Generals. Like I bought it used and I opened it up I thought it was burned at first but then I reilized it was just all on 1 cd. And it did not have a picture because that side was being used too. I am not sure if you dled the movie or if it is yours. But if you realy want to do it the easy way maybe just make a copy of the movie itself. Like really you do not need to make another copy for the extra fetures anyways(well in my opion it is just not worth it)and with that shrink thing I have never tryed it before but it is hard to belive your going to fit like a whole movie and all it extra fetures on one side.

thanks for the update guys i have tried to use DVD Shrink na had a bit of trouble trying to copy or select files. it still seems to be bigger than 4.75 gig. but i'll try again i use sonic record now it is a liteon ldw 411s drive +/- it should work shouldn't it.?
