Alright guys, At the risk of being completely flamed, I got a question that might sound dumb. I just bought a 360 from a pawn shop (without the box it came in) and my question is how do I know what model it is? the last system I owned was a 64 and I know nothing about these things. I tried to do some research on the net to figure out what kinds of things I could with this 360 and quickly realized I was in over my head. I thought a 360 was a 360 and it was that simple, but I guess not. So the first step in getting the most out of this 360 is to first figure out which one it is. If anyone know any tips, hints, or links, that can answer thi question,it would be much appreciated. I am not trolling, I am just completely knew to this. Please help!!!
ok, i really have no idea what your asking. A 360 is a 360. They all do pretty much the same thing. The models would be a core system (no hard drive), a premium system (hard drive), and the 360 Elite whihc is the black one. They do however have different DVD drives in them if that is what you mean. You can find out which drive you have by openeing the DVD drawer on the system, looking at it, and comapring it to the many pictures and guides on the internet. This is really only useful for those who want to flash the DVD drive in order for it to play back up copies.
There are some real good posts in big bold print at the top of the forum that you should read. There is a ton of really useful information in them.
it will be on the side.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/compare101.htm?WT.svl=nav you can see in the picture how the core system does not have the little grey hump (the hard drive) attached to the side. You can buy one and attache on to any system though.
