Looks like modchipstore is under new management. Has anyone ordered anything from them since the FedRaids/new management? The WiiKeys use to be out of stock but now they are showing as available. Just want to be cautious before I give these guys my money.

Yea i just notice that too. That wierd i thought the Fedraid would stop them from selling modchip. If you not sure u can try modchipcentral.com which I believe is located in Canada.

Did they give you a clone or authentic one?

so wiikey is working on a new config and recovery disc but you went ahead and purchased it anyways.

I was debating about waiting till they release the new config and recovery discs to go with the chip.... any thoughts on this? I figured you must have thought of it since you just purchased the wiikey.

The WiiKey is one of the most reliable modchips in my opinion. I havent run into a bad WiiKey once except when someone burned the chips to ash with a soldering iron. I am confident that they will come out with an official release and config disc soon.

so you think we'll be able to download it and burn it to a disc to use it?

If so what's the best way to use the chip for now....... upgrade to 3.0 and then install......... or install the chip THEN upgrade to 3.0?

Thanks for all your help... i've read a lot on these forums but everyones saying different things.

I would say your best bet is to mod the wii first and then use 1.2 config disc to turn Region Override on and then update to 3.0U. The reason is because in 3.0U the wii wont be able to read the 1.2 config disc....

Can we get back to the original thread. I have ordered from modchipcentral before. They are great. Shipping costs are high and it takes about 1 1/2 weeks to receive in the US. Modshipstore on the other hand is in the US. Shipping is reasonable and I've gotten my packages in 5 days or less. I would rather go with them but am leary since they were showing items as out of stock and now that they are under new management they are sellin again. Can this new management be the Feds? I want to know if anybody has pruchased anything from them recently.

Why would I want to ask them. When the thread clearly states that I want the opinion of people who have recently done business with them. You need to read posts thoroughly before you ignorantly comment on them. Don't you think that I arealy tried there customer service. That was the first checkpoint I inspected. I did say that I arealy ordered from them and the fact that my login no longer works with their customer service area further makes me skeptical. Now lets get back to the original thread. And only people who this thread applies to should comment. If not let the mods close this thread out. Because I would rather get my question unanswered and the thread closed then have people p*ssy-foot around the question.

WOW... you need to calm down lol.

I have not ordered from them but I can assure you the feds are not running that website. You're getting paranoid and that's fine you're being cautios so here's my LOGICAL opinion which should make you feel a bit more at ease.

The feds can shut a website down for illegal activity but they can't take their name and set up an entrapment shop. Further more the feds don't have the resources to put something like this together. They have lots of resources but they're not going to devote a team to monitor and maintain a website that is completely new to them. Their best bet is to go after major distribution channels and stop it there. It's not their business or objective to fake a distribution channel of being alive and bring suits against those that use that channel. Bringing individual suits would be exhaustive of their time and resources especially considering they're not getting paid extra to arrest more people.... nintendo's not paying them. Don't worry about it - you're fine.

You're absolutely right. My tone was uncalled for. I need to stop posting while I've been drinking. My bad, Menion. I think I may try them next payday. I'll keep you all posted.

It's cool, I guess I should have elaberated more, I was being honest about contacting them being I highly doubt anyone has ordered from them or even noticed the wiiKey was back in stock, Modchip store was by far the best distributer her in the US before they were shut down, and before you spend your money you always want to make sure they are there, If something seems fishy I myself wouldn't send any money to them, I just don't want to see anymore people lose money on this and have item confinscated for that matter. If you do happen to contact them and they respond I would say its perfectly safe to send the money but my suspicion is why they only have the WiiKey in stock and nothing else? strange but if your a bit skeptical on the situation www.Modchipcentral.com has them for very cheap and they are very quick about shipping them. But if you do go through modchipstore.com and get the wiikey let us know, and to Arjun00 your right most likely it wouldn't be legal but the FED's dont seem to care reguardless as we have all seen in past situations they have pulled but I'm with you I would definatly agree the FED's would have nothing to do with the site. Good luck and hopefully the chip arrives quickly.
