I recently installed the wii key and I got the wiikey setup disk too work so I decided to try the Bigs. The game started to install an update and it has taken like 30 minutes and it still isn't finished. I was wondering if I should power off the wii even though it says not to or just keep waiting. I don't want to brick my wii.

Well, if it's installing an Update from the Disc, then you may end up with a BRICK! You are supposed to update it manually, by going into the Wii Settings, and updating it there, so that when you put a game in, the update on the Disc, won't brick your Wii!

only if it's a different region game will it brick your Wii.

I had the freezing while trying to update problem once. I just unplugged the Wii and tried again. Worked the second time.

i am imagining him still sat there staring at the tv waiting for it to finish - and that was 5 days ago !!!!

I ejected the disked and the Wii still worked. Then I updated my wii and went and bought Verbatim dvd-rs and the game worked just fine the next time. Thanks for the help

So all the new wiikey files are out.

I have 2.2U firmware on my wii and have not installed the wiikey yet.

What would be best practice....... install then update to 3.0u

or update to 3.0u and then install wiikey?

I heard the wiikey setup disk doesn't work on 3.0U. So u might want to just install the wiikey now and just update it later over the internet. Thats what I did and it worked just fine.

The new config disc 1.3 works fine on Wii firmware 3.0u. It doesn't matter which one is done first. I bought my wii used with 3.0u on it, I then installed the wiikey and the updates and everything works ok.
