hi my ps2 just broke and i guess its using khs-400 something but can i replace it with the 400r or sanyo(its one of those) both ps2's are the same versions 39001 so can i get some tips?

no its scph-390001 and i wouldnt wanna buy it

if you have the khs-400c or khs-400b laser, which i think thats what you are saying, then you should not replace it with either the 400r or sanyo b/c of compatibility problems, you will want the khs-400c or i understand there is a better khs 400Q laser now that replaces the khs-400c and khs-400b

even though they are the same versions, there is compatibility issues

that sounds true but what would happened if i did?would the system over heat or something?

well, i never tried to switch the laser with a different one, but i don't think that it would hurt the ps2 itself, i just think that the disc won't play. it is possible that the connections don't match, but i have only dealt with khs-400c lasers and not sanyo or 400r
