We are the middle of developing a CFW (Custom Firmware) for the newely released PSP SLIM (PSP-2000) model. The firmware will use OFW (Official Firmware) update 3.71 and a unauthorized FW 1.50 since the PSP Slim cannot use the official 1.50 due to compatibility issues. To install the firmware you will NOT need a pandora's battery. Me, head leader, and my development team are going to use the same methods as of those Dark_Alex used for CFW OE-A's. The firmware we are developing will not be able to play all OFW 1.50 homebrews, but it will play most. The new CFW will be code named "TAF" short for The Armada Firmware, and when being displayed in the System Settings menu on the PSP Slim it will say "3.71_TAF". Since the firmware is still in development no pictures are up but soon will be and I will post pictures with in 1 or 2 days from now. Now to more features of "TAF". It will have a recovery menu similar to the one of Dark_Alex. For now we found a way to access the Flash0 folder, let the fun begin,You will be able to add in your own custom boot screens, custom UMD boots, and custom XMB's with custom menu SFX. Since the internal memory of the new PSP Slim was expanded we were able to leave all additional Languages. You will be able to overclock or underclock the processor to the lowest or highest 333mhz. (**There will be a another level of brightness on the screen but warning, this will DRAIN your battery). The future of Custom Firmware and Homebrew gaming is now going to the next level.

**Having our doubts, don't expect the brighter backscreen!

Aren't you going to feel stupid if you find out it's real?

@XDaisukeX

A man after my own heart, putting X's before and after his name. Good luck on future developments--a website to track your progress would be nice, though. As well as an explanation as to how you got around the security of the Slim so that you don't need a battery.

if you look through most psp forums there is always someone who says they are creating a new custom firmware and nothing ever comes of it

if this firmware is released, it will have to gain respect from everyone else, just like team m33 did.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

Trust me, I'm well aware of Project EE and Graham Fischer and such; however, this guy seems to at least somewhat know what he's talking about. It didn't start, like most other do, as a "Hey, let's get together and code something. I don't know how to code but I know someone here does and he can do it for me."

Besides, if it is real, I don't want to scare him away.

Now, back on subject, I'm most curious about this statement:

"To install the firmware you will NOT need a pandora's battery."

If it's for real, I believe it'll be enough for team TAF to gain respect in the homebrew world. I did do some more research and discovered that this is the only place he posted news about his CFW. I'm not sure why he didn't post it at places like QJ or psp hacks.

but that is not true, it has been posted on many other forums friend! psp2dev, forums.qj.net, max console, pspmod do a little more searching ;) we are cooking trying to stir up something special with Team AoP =D I think if we give it thought, we can make this happen! more updates to come

Ohhh, you're team AoP. I just figured with "The Armada Firmware" that you'd be team TAF, like the name suggests.

no you were correct, we are team TAF and are trying to team up with Team AoP since Team M-33 kind of ran them out, we are hoping that Team TAF and team AOP can make something that will blow M-33, but with a lot of discouraging bloggers and readers, lets try to prove em' wrong eh? =]

Yeah, don't worry. The same thing happened with M33 when DAX was still releasing CFW--they didn't have much respect until they were the only option. It's good to see a little competition.

Anything advertised on this site as development is usually BS. This site is a giant host of n00bs. If this dude were serious, he would know where the big dogs and REAL coders advertise. Maxconsole, DCEmu, etc. I've been coming to this site since FOREVER (about 2 years or more for PSP) and it's been n00bs the whole time. Wave after wave. This is like a "starter" website for when you are just learning about PSP hacking. I've seen it happen over and over again. It's fake. :)
