I am new to the ps1 emulator and i am confused about this.im not even sure if ps1 means psx...because i downloaded it from psx section.so anyways,i want know how to convert that into a game file...or do i need some sort of psx emulator?i have PS1P emulator.thanks and every help that you guys give me is deeply appreciated.

k, you have a direct rip of a PSX (which is the same as PS1) game. Now you need to convert it to EBOOT.PBP firmware.

A great program is Simple Popstation Gui.

After you download the program, run it. Open up

"Dino Crisis 2.img"

inside of it. It should automatically detect all the settings (Game Save and Game ID...) for you, but it's pretty self explanatory if they don't. You can customize what it looks like on your PSP if you want, as well, but it's optional.

When you have everything how you want it, just click on GO... and it'll make an EBOOT.PBP for you. Put it inside of the following folder on your PSP.

x:/PSP/GAME/DINOCRISIS2

[Note1: x:/ is whatever shows up on your computer when you plug your PSP into it.]

[Note2: DINOCRISIS2 is whatever name you want, it doesn't have to be the name of the game.]

Make sure you check what it says in Output Folder... That's where both an EBOOT.PBP and KEYS.BIN file are going to be.

EDIT:i've got it starting!it really is my customized psp's fault!but...now it says "The game could not be started.(CA000005)"i know i'm being a nuisance but i need to know.thanks.

Don't worry about it, you're getting further on your own than most people do. It's my fault anyway.

I forgot to mention that you also must put the KEYS.BIN file in with the EBOOT.PBP. "The game could not be started.(CA000005)" is the error you get when you don't have a KEYS.BIN file.

Try changing the name of the Dino Crisis folder, the one in PSP/GAME, to SLUS01279.

If that doesn't work, then go into recovery mode and make sure that kernal is set to 3.40 and that in Advanced Configuration->Configuration, everything is disabled.

This still may not work, I'm positive that(CA000005)is an error you get when you don't have KEYS.BIN, so I suggest trying to reconvert the .img file and putting the new ones on your PSP.

Do you have a customized PSP?If yes, then return to the original PSP XMB.Or you can try to change the theme. But it's better and easier if you return to normal XMB.

No.You can recover to normal XMB if you backed up the flash0.If not then downgrade to 1.5 then upgrade to whatever firmware you want.Once you downgrade, all your flash0 gets reseted so when you upgrade back to whatever firmware you want it gets to normal XMB aswell.

Any custom fw after 3.03, you don't need KEYS.BIN and DOCUMENT.DAT anymore.

@ kikzm33z: The reason Doom won't work could be one of many reasons. The PSone emu doesn't offer support for Doom yet, you don't have a high enough fw, so you're using old pops. Which custom fw are you on? Upgrading will give you updated versions of pops.
