I am looking to buy a mod chip and want to know which one is the best in terms of reliability, functionality, compatibility and ease of install. I know the Wiikey is the most popular, but I would appreciate your input.

Thanks!!

I would just go for a wiikey. You can get it cheap from modchipcentral. It may not be the best in terms of the features it provides but there are plenty of happy customers and plenty of support for this specific modchip.

This is why i stopped replying to threads in the Wii section. To many lazy asses asking the same question over and over again without searching.

Wow, how do you know that I did not search? The discussion sticky has several dozen pages and most of it is not relevant to what I asked. I want to hear from personal experiences with the chips. If you don't want to contribute, then don't hijack the thread to call me names. It is ironic how you just reponded to my thread just to call me a lazy ass.

I dunno, I am getting a bit sick of some of the "Oh you shouldn't have posted that here" type replies. Who the hell some people think they are I don't know. All replies have to conform to some sort of policing by readers (not mods) on this forum and it is wrecking it.

In answer to the question, WiiFree is OK.

Sorry I don't want to be a di*k but the first rule of this forum:

General rules

1. Before starting a new thread, use SEARCH first (located on top of the page..) to see if your question has been answered before!

Well to tell you the truth, if your getting sick of seeing the 'use the search button' phrase. maybe you should take a hint...

larry is right in saying use it because there are enough threads out there to help you. dont be lazy and start a new one. It may be the mods decision to close a thread but the users still have to stop annoyances like this simple rule from being broken...

Whats wrecking the forum are these types of questions being asked over and over again. Then half of them being closed without no answer due to them getting reported to the Mods asking it to be closed because it has already been asked and answered 10 million times.

Then new members come to the forum wanting an answer and have to sort through 10 million threads that have been closed due to past new members not searching before making those threads.

It got to the point where I said the hell with it and stopped coming in the Wii section and answering the same threads over and over again. Then when we say to search ya get all offensive and say "If ya have nothing constructive to say then don't say anything at all"

Well I was being constructive. I said to stop being a lazy ass and help yourself by searching for the answer to your thread. I proved the threads where out there with the 20 linked threads above. That probably isn't even half of them that is out there.

While we are at it kondor my post was just as informative as yours.

What kind of answer is that?

Why is Wiifree ok?

What options does it have that makes it set itself out from others?

But since you say I am wrecking the forum I will take my knowledge somewhere else and let the new members get your lame answers {In answer to the question, WiiFree is OK.) instead of an informative 1 that I usually give.

I'm with ya Larry! This is crazy. There should be a new rule for this forum that says "If you don't want to read the stickies and you ask a question that anybody can find any other thread with the answer then you will be banned permanently! That would be awesome!

Seriously, can someone suggest another forum that is like afterdawn but without all the idiots that seem to want to police it and slag off what everyone posts?

I am seriously beginning to wonder if this forum is being patrolled by folks from various authorities who just constantly spend their time slagging off others questions and posts to make the forum less of a friendly place.

Its certainly less of a nice place to be just lately.

I suggest going to the search page and type in my user name and search. You will see your last post is way off base.

Yeah I agree with larryje, when I first came here I couldn't find the answer I want because the same question is being asked in 10 different post and it is frustrating when you have to go through a lot of post with no information in it.

He still answered my question at the end as I couldn't find it using the search button.

I come to this forum on a daily basis and most days it's deja vu. It does feel like the forum is dead with the same old topics everyday with same question. People asking which chip is best and how you burn iso etc.

kondor, your definately in the minority here. Most people who spend a lot of times on these forums are getting very tired of answering the same questions over and over. Like larry, I've probably helped more people on here than most so don't go throwing around accusations. We're just trying to keep things simple and organized and polluting the main page with 50 threads on the same topic doesn't help anybody!
