yeah thats an highend unit 1080p and the reveiws are good on it. Amazon has it for 439.00 also

why not do a dual format player that also upconverts standard DVDs

My new Rolling Stones magazine says this player will also play HD DVD's. It must be a misprint that Sony will have a dual format player. But the article says:"Can handle Blu-ray or HD DVD discs" Sony BDP-s300

It has to be a misprint, how can Sony play the competition?
