Do I Need Toxic DL Patch?

Hi, i want to burn god of war ii to a dl dvd but I'm not sure whether i need to use the toxic dl patch as I don't know if my PS2 has the dms4 modchip. I bought my PS2 from Thailand (and yes it does work) so i'm not sure what type of modchip it uses.

Also, i made a copy of the image file (it's and mdf. and mds.) but when i try to patch it, it says 'failed to open file'. The patch only opens mds files but my GOW2 mds is only 9KB while my mdf of GOW2 is 8.1GB. Is there a FREE program i can use to convert my mds/mdf to iso? Thank you

The mds file directs the program to your mdf file.
