I recently got a PS2 network adaptor from a retailer, and a seagate 160GB HDD, but when I try to attach the drive to the adapter there is no way it can fit without making some kind of adjustment to one or both devices. All I see on the web are steps to doing HD Advance and etc. but I can't even get past the first step. Can someone please direct me to a URL with step-by-step pics, or can someone just tell me what I need to do. I'm ready to get this show on the road and I think I may be going insane. Thanks to whoever is willing to help me.

Take the metal plate off of the Network adaptor. That should get you some flex with both the IDE and power plug (you can move them left or right).

I've heard not all Seagate drives are compatible, so you may want to check hdadvance or Hdloader's websites for verification on what other people are using. I had a Seagate 400gb drive that wasn't compatible.

I think it may only be the first gen Network Adapters, but I am not certain (they are the ones with both network and modem).

Do u know retail stores I can purchase HD Advance 3.0, or perhaps the least expensive online stores that I can get HD Advance. I found out that the hard drive I had wasn't an IDE connector, so I returned it for a Maxtor 100Gb drive that would fit. Now all I need is the HD Advance disc and I'll be set. Thanks for the response to my previous question. You were right on the money.

That's where I got mine from. It took a while to get here, but was worth it.
