The latest is 3.52 M33-4 but the best one is 3.40 OE-A by Dark_AleX. It has the least bugs, all ISOs work, all homebrew work on it and it's the last CFW of the legendary Dark_AleX. I have it myself and I love it. I have been using it since it came out and never had a problem with it. You download it here.

3.52 M33-4 has no bugs and can run the same games as 3.40 OE-A plus has added options that 3.40 OE-A doesn't. So my opinion is 3.52 M33 -4 is the better choice.

3.40 OE-A was the best in the past but face it Dark_Alex has left and M33 is doing a hell of a job adding to what Dark_Alex has already given us.

3.52 M33 HERE

3.52 M33-4 HERE

3.52 firmware HERE

1.50 firmware HERE

Download the 3.52 M33 CFW linked above. Extract the file.

Download both the 1.50 and 3.52 firmware. You need to re-name the 3.52 firmware to 352.PBP the 1.50 firmware to 150.PBP. Then add them to the M33CREATOR folder.

Now copy the M33CREATOR folder and the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders to the PSP MS directory of ms0:/PSP/GAME folder.

Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the KXploit Permanent Patcher. It should run and say patched successfully and reboot back to the XMB.

Now go to game Menu Memory Stick and run the M33CREATOR.

After you run the M33CREATOR it should reboot back to the XMB. It should have created a 3.52 M33 update which you need to select in the Game Menu Memory Stick.

It will flash the files to the PSP and you should be at 3.52 M33 firmware. If it is then format your MS.

Now extract the 3.52 M33-4 update.

Drag the PSP folder that is in the update M33-4 into the root of the MS overwriting the files when it asks you to. Now go to Game Menu Memory Stick and run the m33-4 update. This will only take a few seconds.

After the update is finished check and make sure it says 3.52 M33-4 for firmware. If it does say 3.52 m33-4 then format the MS 1 more time.

You are now updated to 3.52 M33-4.

You're wrong - the best is NOT OE. M33 THEMSELVES said OE was full of bugs and that's why they've made so many M33 updates - to get rid of all the bugs of OE. The best custom FW is 3.52 M33(4) b/c it offers the Sony 9660.prx - which, for the first time in PSP history, offers NO UMD and it actually WORKS. Aside from that, it is the FASTEST method by which to load Isos. The choice is clear.

I completely disagree with you. OE was the best. M33 made new firmwares to be updated and because Dark_AleX quit the scene.

Dark_AleX would be so pissed if he just read what you said! :P

I have never read or heard of M33 team claiming that OE versions was full of bugs. The reason M33 made updates is so the Scene stays current with the available firmware out there. Plus they make updates to fix bugs or add new options to the CFW.

Even OE CFW went through these stages so that doesn't mean M33 is any less stable just because they have had multiple updates. I think 3.52 M33-4 is 1 of the most stable CFW ever released.

OE CFW also has a NO UMD option that works. The only difference is that 3.52 M33-4 offers the Sony NP9660 NO UMD driver which has more compatibility with most ISO/CSO games out there.

There is no difference in ISO/CSO loading times. Both M33 and OE CFW have CPU SPEED selection. So there really isn't no benefit between the 2 when it comes to the speed of playing the ISO.

Over All both firmwares are stable and pretty much the same. But as I said M33 has a few more options then OE version.

Sony NP9660 NO UMD DRIVER

VSH MENU

POPSLOADER PLUGIN that offers 3.00 to 3.52 versions.

UMD riper

Higher firmware 3.52 (Better to have for newer titles coming out that require a higher firmware then OE can handle)

Just my 2 cents on why I think 3.52 M33 is a little better then 3.40 OE-A. I am not saying 3.40 OE-A isn't good CFW it is fine and was the better choice at 1 time but now I think 3.52 M33-4 has given us something that is stable and has options worth finally updating to.

Nicely said, larrylje! Thanks!

Anyways, do you know how I can use this NP9660?

What does it do? I heard it was a plugin that legally allowed ISOs to be played...is it that? If not, please explain.

Thanks.

Its just an option that you can select in the Recovery Menu/UMD MODE options.

Pretty much the same as OE version when you go into Recovery menu then to configuration and you have the different selections under UMD MODE. 3.52 M33-4 has a Sony NP9660 NO UMD added to the UMD MODE list.

It is built into the CFW not a plugin.

I love how ironic that statement is!

Latest cfw is 3.71...extremely buggy though. I much prefer 3.52, 3.71 is a great step forward but the loss of 1.5 kernel sucks. A plugin will be released soon to address this though.

Yup that is what I am saying. And it is normal for your plugins not to work...pops, cxmb, all of them are not working. Hopefully the 1.5 plugin will be here by the weekend, I am scared to even turn on my psp right now! So with the new pandora and 1.5 plugin psp life will be good again :)

@marlino23

Your on 3.71 M33 and your popsloader plugin works?

How ya getting it to work? Mine won't load with 3.71 M33.

I can enable the plug-in but the popsloader menu doesn't come up when i choose a PSX game. Even holding down R trigger while booting up the game doesn't bring it up.
