Hey fellas after browsing search engine I could not find the answer that I am looking for. You see I want to get a 360 and modify it so it can play backups since my 4 kids scratch the CDs all the time and I don't want to pay $50 for the same game :( Now I have searched google and don't trust what other people say. Basically I want a really good chip(mod) that will allow me to play on-line(if possible) and future proof, meaning I don't want to be screwed. What do you guys recommend? Where should I get the product? I hear there are 3 kinds of drives: Hitachi, Samsung and Toshiba. How do I know what is in the box? Also is there a way to avoid voiding my warranty? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you buy a brand new 360 right now, more than likely you'll either get a Samsung (aka Toshiba) drive or a Hitachi 0079 or BenQ.

The BENQ drive is currently the only one that can't be flashed very easily. Well, the 0079 CAN but you need an extra chip on the DVD drive.

No chip is future-proof but you'd want to get one that's upgradable. Not sure if there is ANY chip that allows you to update but if you flash the dvd drive yourself, you can always stay up-to-date.

I'd reccommend reading the sticky topics at the top of the forum about. You'll be alot more prepared to know what you'd be getting into. If you just bought a 360 and had it modded, you'd have to get it updated everytime a new firmware came out. It's cheaper to do yourself.

I have the Asus P5B Deluxe WiFi motherboard. Do I still need to buy the SATA card? Also I have the LG GSA H22L burner dual layer burner and I was wondering if it does "bitsetting". Thanks.
