If you don't have sound at all, not even without headphones then the port is faulty or something on the motherboard or faulty connection either between the headphones and the HP port, or the HP port and the motherboard.

Take the PSP apart and check if something is misplaced.If you don't know how to take your PSP apart,then go to a trusted game store,family or friends and ask them if they can fix it.If you have no luck,then you have no choice but to give it to Sony to fix.But make sure you have Pandora's Battery, because Sony will upgrade to 3.71.
