I have custom firmware 3.40 OE and I want to install official firmware 3.71, but when I go through the usual motions of updating I get "the game could not be played (dadada)". How do I get 3.71 installed onto my psp?

downgrade your psp using the 1.50 recovery winstaller, and install the official firmware from 1.50-custom firmware has blocked the ability to update to official firmware as a safety precaution-which is why you get the DADADADA error...DA=Dark_AleX

not sure of the exact location off hand-you would have to google "1.50 recovery winstaller"

its a winstaller that puts the recovery files onto your memory stick for you..and assuming you know how to access recovery mode (Hold R trigger while powering on from an off state) you select the third option in the main menu "run program at /PSP/GAME/RECOVERY/EBOOT.PBP" to get your psp back to 1.50

here is the recovery folder
http://www.sendspace.com/file/j3j2e2 just put that in game folder,go into recovery mode and run programme at psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp this will take you back down to 1.50 you can then install the oficial firmware (god only knows why you would want to do that lol)
