is there an option to soft mod the xbox for games...and then if i were to play online i "reverse" the effects so i don't get banned from xbox live?

Well, if you did a Hard Mod, you can actually disable the chip, so that you can go online! And then if you want to play around with the modded stuff, you can just switch the chip back on! That's all I really know about!
