I just got my PS3. I was wondering if instead of buying one of the expensive PS3 controllers, if I could use another non-ps3 controller which has a USB. For example, I have a Logitech controller with USB which is designed for PC use. Can I use it for the PS3? If I do, will this produce any errors on the console??? or is the PS3 made just for having PS3 controllers? Also, are other USB peripherals compatible with the console??? thanx.

NYKO makes a converter that turns a usb port into a ps2 controller port so that you can use ps2 controllers on your ps3. Thats what I started using for guitar hero.

iv'e got a pc pad that looks exactly like a ps2 pad and it works fine in the ps3, the only problem is some of the buttons are switched round, L1 is R2, triangle is X, etc.
the analogue sticks and d-pad are work fine though.

I have a 4 port usb PS controller hub that works for multiplayer. It works in the last port on the right on the PS3 only though. I have only tested it with 2 PS2 controllers for a 3 player game so far.

Lasr tim I tried a pc controller, the PS button wouldnt work while the usb controllers were in. I tried to figure out what it was and then just unplugged the controllers and evrything worked fine. Both of my ps3 controllers are on the way out the door. One controllers left analog stick doesnt go in the top right corner very well any more. Any suggestion on a no nps3 controller that is wireless?
