Upgrading PSP firmware 1.5 beyond 3.5--quick question.

I have looked everywhere for this information, and I can't find anything on the subject. I just bought a PSP with firmware 1.5 from a seller on the internet, and the seller states that this PSP cannot be upgraded beyond 3.5 firmware. I have never heard of this, and I want to upgrade to 3.52 m33-4. Are there any PSP 1.5's that can't be upgraded past 3.5? If anyone could explain a reason why this seller's statement is true or false, please let me know. Thank you!

lol 1.5 to 3.50 or below, he probs got 3.03 with need GTA unpatched
anyways if he got 1.5 without you cant downgrade below 3.50??? if he got 1.5 you can upgrade to anything

so basically, as long as the psp firmware version says "1.5" in the PSP, it doesn't matter what the guy told me, I can still upgrade to 3.52 m33-4, right?

man why you askin stupid questions when you can try to upgrade to 3.40oe-a, no offence try to upgrade to 3.40oe-a, its lower than 3.50 and if you can upgrade to 3.40 OE-A THAT MEANS CUSTOM firmware you can upgrade to 3.52m33 no doubt
by the way upgrade to custom not origional

i upgraded to m33 cuz of this stupid game keeps on stallin but 3.40 oe-a works perfect

I'll upgrade to 3.40 oe-a, then to 3.52 m33-4. I was planning on at least upgrading to 3.40 oe-a, but I didn't know if I was missing something and if I would brick it if I went to the 3.52 m33. Doesn't sound like it will brick. Thanks for your help!

the main difference between 3.40 oe and 3.52 m33 is that there is no need for a UMD to be in the drive in the 3.52 m33, correct?

3.40 oe-a and 3.52m33 is the same only difference is m33 plays new games like madden 08 for example
they EXACTLY the same if you have problems with 3.40 oe-a for playin games upgrade to m33 and by the way m33 is easy as hell to install 1 click, make sure you dont take out your power cored while upgrading

Yeah, you should now upgrade from 3.52M33-4 to 3.71.I'm trying to tell EVERYBODY that 3.71M33 is out.Spread the word guys!
