Have just bought a new PSP Slim, and was wondering if there was a step-by-step guide on how to play games without the UMD? I have the files in uncompressed iso format.
Any help would be great

I'm not the smartest, so a step by step instruction manual on how to do all of this stuff would be great. I'v been looking around for hours and havn't learned too much. Where in the memory stick folder hierarchy is the ISO folder, or do I need to create it? And if so, where?

You'll have to create the "ISO" folder in the root of your PSP drive :)
It should be like "X:\ISO" where "X" is your PSP root drive, [In my case it is G drive :)]
But 1st of all, you must have a custom firmware :)
You cannot play .isos on the official PSP firmware >_>

1) Completely turn off PSP
2) Turn back on holding the R button
3) The recovery menu will appear, select configuration
4) Where it says UMD only press X until it comes up with Sony...

Not to sound rude, but not even 10 threads down from this one, I had made a thread on this exact thing. In order to do this you need to be running at least 3.60 M33
Here is my guide:
Quote: Well people seem confused on this one (I know I was), So I decided to post this to help people out. So long as you follow these instructions word for word, you will be rocking out Super Mario on your Slim in no time. Ready? lets do this.
What you will need:
Sony PSP-1000 Series [With Custom Firmware, I used 3.40 OE-A]
Sony PSP-2000 Series [With Official Firmware 3.60]
Custom Firmware 3.60 M33 (Download here)
Official Firmware Update 3.40 (Download Here)
Official Firmware Update 3.50 (Download Here)
Pandora's Battery [Create via PSP-1000 Series running Custom Firmware]
Magic Memory Stick [Same as above]
USB Cable
Now for the installation:
Step 1 - Download and Extract the 3.60M33 Custom firmware.
Step 2 - Use your PSP-1000 with the Magic MS inserted but without battery [use your charger].
Step 3 - Select USB mode on the PSP-1000 and from inside the archive you just extracted copy:
pandora_slim
pandora_slim%
to PSP > Game, or if your 1.5 kernel is set to game150 then use PSP >GAME150
Step 4 - Extract "EBOOT.PBP" from the 3.40 and 3.50 update packages you downloaded and rename them "340.PBP" and "350.PBP", then copy them to the "pandora_slim" folder you just copied to the PSP-2000 Series.
Step 5 - Run the program you just copied on the PSP-1000 Series [pandora-slim creater].
Step 6 - Insert the Magic Memory stick and then the Pandora battery into the slim. The green light will turn on. Then the screens light will turn on, however NO IMAGE will be shown. Relax this is normal.
Step 7 - To install press "X" [only press ONE time]. After a few seconds the green light will turn off.
Step 8 - Now Remove the Pandora Battery and the Magic Memory Stick [replace with your normal battery and memory stick]
Step 9 - Turn the PSP-2000 Series back on, now go to:
Setting > System Settings > System Information
congratulations you are now running 3.60 M33
Phat PSP #1 - 3.40 OE-A
Phat PSP #2 - 3.40 OE-A
Slim PSP - 3.60 M33
PS3 - 1.93 With Kubuntu 7.04
