I am in Dublin also on N** so I know it not a problem with N**.
Go to menu, installation, user installation and tell me how many transponders it shows.
How do you update your firmware on the eurobox?? i've got a eurovox max, been have few probs and think it might need an update. Not to sure how to update the firmware though.

If it is a 2007 model it is called a Red Box, (as in the colour of the packaging it came in). He will need to jtag it to bring it back to life.

Depends on the model you have is it a 2006, 2007 or 2008? Press menu, config and system info.

Look down at the box from above and note where the rf in connection is, looking through the grill on the box above this is the tuner, a 2007 model will only measure 8 slots of the grill and a 2006 will measure 11.

You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F
Like this one

If your pc/laptop does not have a 9 pin serial port you will need a USB adapter also to use in conjuntion with the null modem cable.

no got them lol. what are the benefits of updating the firmware? i've noticed every morning the box keeps switching on and off but after that its fine.
when i get these cables what do i do next??
Make sure your USB adapter is a USB to serial port adapter similar to this one.
These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

Basically it improves the programme guide and signal problems. But as you say it keeps switching itself on and off this could be a fault in the power supply unit, like any electrical product they do develop faults over time.
If you do want to upgrade just get the cable/cables you need and come back I will give you the firmware and tell you how to do it.
