Hi there,

Glad to find this site as it looks like there's quite a lot of bod's on here who know their sh*t.

I'll give you a rundown of the system and programs I'm using first:

Computer: Apple Mac G4 Tower
System Software: OS 9.2
Programs: DVD Extractor 0.9b
DVD Studio Pro 1.5
MPEG Append

Okay, now for the problems:
I'm not a complete dunce as I have successfully backed-up DVD's before, it's just some which are giving me aggro.

1) Con Air for example; I split the movie over two discs and when I played the second disc it has slight lip sync problems, how do I sort this?

2) Is there anyway (or program) which can shrink movies to fit on one dvd (some files being 4.7gig even after extraction!)

3) I have an NTSC dvd but my TV doesn't support this. Can I convert the DVD to PAL?

4) I also have plenty of MPEG movies on my hard disc, how do I burn these onto DVD? (Please don't tell me to copy them to CD-R because I'm using a PS2 to play my DVD's and it doesn't support CD-Rs)

Thanks for your time.

Ditto on the ignorance about Macs problem, but I can help a little bit:

1) Don't split it over two dics, make a movie only copy and exclude all menues and audio/video options that you don't need.

2) DVD2One is a great compression program that also has a Mac version (www.DVD2One.com).

3) You can convert, but I don't know what Mac software you would use.

4) Again, not very difficult to do on a PC, but I don't know about on a Mac. Try the prog that Yuedana mentioned

Hope I was of some help...
