Hey guys

Im just wondering if you are having issues connecting to xbox live... I just recently bought a 360 Elite and couldnt update my console due to xbox live network issue... I just want to confirm this cause I dont want to return my console yet..

Not had any problems myself. Have you run the connection test to see where it is failing? That will help you figure out how to fix it. It may not be the console, it may be the way your connection is set up.

i did the connection test and it passes through until I reach Xbox live test

I use the same setup as for my ps3 and i didn't have any issue with it

do you have the ports open on your router for Xbox Live?
? UDP 88
? UDP 3074
? TCP 3074

Xbox.com has a lot of information as well.

its was halo3 it like hurt the servers.

I think its halo 3 that causes the network server to slow down... I was able to update my system last night... It was kinda slow though... I downloaded a demo that only 400mb and it took me 20 - 30 minutes...

Yeah, with that many people online playing at one time it will happen. I was playing Rainbow Six Vegas last night with our gaming clan and our server went from all players showing green to all showing red as their connection. This happened all of a sudden and for no reason. The lag got bad enought that we just decided to call it quits for the night.

Also my messaging was really slow and sometimes took me sending it 2-3 times before it would go through. None of this happened before Halo 3
