Anyway I managed to get the file bumped up to the full size and reburned the disc and it made no difference, same error.
Anyway, I read on another forum you could boot up GCOS first, then put the config 1.3 disc in and boot it from there, problem is I cant test this theory out yet until I get my gamecube pad which I need to collect from royal mail sorting office, you can download the pre built GCOS iso's here (change to http) hxxp://gbatemp.net/index.php?download=980
I will test this out when i get the GC pad, if it does work please post a reply to confirm it.
I test the gcos method and the config 1.3 disk works fine for me.

Yes I forget to update my post to confirm the GCOS method works fine, I just pop in 1 of my Gamecube multigame discs (created using MultiGame ISO Creator), when game list loads up u press B and then click A on the the option "Boot DVD", after putting the setup disc in it works great.
But I did notice this only needs to be done when the wii is on PAL, if its already set to region free the setup disc works fine on its own. This leads me to believe the wiikey chaps didnt make it truley PAL.

(If you think you've created the config disk correctly go to the red AAAA if not sure read on)
You need to go back to rafadawns thread and read the whole lot carfully, then go back and look at the bits that refer to your problem, mainly
Quote: B) IF things do not work quite right, you need to turn REGION
OVERRIDE On using Config Discs:
Config 1.3 (Config 1.2 - Use this if 1.3 doesn't work)
If neither Config 1.2 and Config 1.3 works for you, then use the HACKED 1.3 DISC to turn the REGION Override back ON.
Yes you need to pad your files, so then look at,
Padded files for those who are Filechop-challenged:
If you dwnload these there is no need to pad (as it's already been done for you), but it's quite simple when you get the hang of it and will save you allot of time, if you want to give it a go read 2) FILECHOP and GCOS TUTORIAL carefuly.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Now to get the padded file to run on your system (wich could be the problem you've been having all along) you'll either need to make it into a gcos disk or use the hacked config disk, I prefer the hacked disk, heres how I did it,
Quote: Your WiiKey will need to be set to region free mode, this can be done with a config disk found at the WiiKey website prior to the Wii 3.x firmware, after this you will most likly need to download and burn http://rapidshare.com/files/48731676/config1.3.zip.html
Boot up with that disc. It'll ask for a Wiikey config disc, stick in the 1.3 disc, Turn on region free, save, reboot.
Should now be able to boot up 1.3 config disc straight.
The hacked disk is allso available at rafasdawns Official Wiikey Resources and all other good WiiKey resellers. OM

Yo Quick question.
Im on 3.1E Pal
I just burnt my Config Disc 1.3 PAL. It works.
When i put it, yes it reads as a GCOS disc.
But it brings up a screen that says
Multigame DVD9 Ver
Wiikey Base 1.2
Is this correct? or should i be seeing another screen?
And when i try press the reset button, it actually does reset
and doesn't allow me to navigate the menu, please help?

Yes thats right, you need a gamecube pad to navigate the GCOS menu (I dont think the classic controller works), its only within the Wiikey config that you can use the reset button to select things, but if you need to get a gamecube pad to get to the wiikey config u can use that anyway, thus making the reset button select function not required.
Hope this helps.

Dunno, i guess the wiikey chaps forgot to update the title, cos my v1.3 says exactly the same.

Just checking
So if my wii reads the 1.3 config disk, does this mean my wiikey is already updated to 1.9g? cos i bought my wii chipped and wasn't sure if it had been updated or not.
i cant access my region override section cos i cant get into my wiikey base from the 1.3 disc cos i dont have a GCOS controller, i heard you could use the 'reset' button, but it doesn't work. any ideas?

This is becoming harder to help you cos u aint listening!
GCOS does NOT work with the reset button, ONLY wiikey base does, u need a gamecube pad, get 1 off ebay for £5 (thats $10 to my american friends).
It is physically impossible to tell what version the chip is on cos it has stealth mode and cannot be read, if mario galaxy works, it is on 1.9g, if u aint got mario galaxy and all your other games work it dont matter if its updated or not, but in any case, just download the 1.9g update disc and run it, then u will know its on 1.9g (and fyi, the update disc comes up as a gamecube game but this CAN be done with the reset button).
